Zakat calculator
Cash, gold and silver, against live nisāb. Every figure comes with its full working — which ruling applied, which threshold governed, and what counted.
Zakat al-Fitr
A flat amount per person, owed for everyone in your household and due before the Eid prayer. It is not calculated from your wealth — there is no nisāb and no lunar year.
Which schools it covers
All four agree on the rate. They differ on which metal sets the threshold, whether holdings are pooled, and whether worn jewellery counts — and each of those can change the answer. Where a school departs from the others, it is underlined.
| School | Nisāb metal | Metals and cash | Worn jewellery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hanafi | silver | Pooled into one threshold | Zakatable |
| Shafi'i | gold | Assessed separately | Not zakatable |
| Maliki | gold | Assessed separately | Not zakatable |
| Hanbali | gold | Assessed separately | Not zakatable |
